Understand actual and dimensional weight
Actual weight is the parcel's scale weight. Dimensional, or volumetric, weight uses its length, width and height to reflect the space it occupies. FedEx's explanation shows the formula as package volume divided by the applicable divisor.

Compare more than the first price
First check which services accept your destination, parcel dimensions and contents. For eligible options, record the quote, estimated transit, tracking information and the terms of any optional coverage. Ask what is included in the displayed amount and what could be charged separately.
Keep product spending separate from shipping, then combine both in your overall budget. Review destination import requirements through current official guidance. A cheap shipping quote alone does not tell you the complete amount you may need to pay.
Check again before submitting the parcel
Review the final packed weight and dimensions, address, packaging instructions, selected service and payment summary. If the final amount differs from your early estimate, compare the inputs before assuming the quote is wrong. A different box size, service or parcel contents can change the comparison.
